Dr. Burt talks strategy for KIPP Memphis schools

Newly-appointed KIPP Memphis Public Schools Chief Executive Officer Antonio Burt talked with The Commercial Appeal last week about his big plans for empowering North Memphis KIPPsters.

In the piece published on December 5, Dr. Burt talked about returning to the area after two decades, what inspired him to work in education, and his mission of helping empower KIPP students to reach their goals. “That's my whole mission...how do I help fulfill the promise that we made to families over 20 years ago. There's definitely a road to transformation,” Burt told the local news outlet. The new CEO also went on to discuss the importance of academics, how funding impacts education, and how he hopes to see the community support KIPP Memphis moving forward.
