KIPP Memphis Public Schools (KMPS) CEO Antonio Burt, Ed.D. talked with Memphis radio show cityCURRENT in December to highlight KIPP Memphis.

In this radio interview, the newly-appointed CEO discussed the mission and values of KMPS, how the public schools excel in the North Memphis Area, and what he has in store to bring success to KMPS.

Park talks with Dr. Antonio Burt, Chief Executive Officer for KIPP Memphis Public Schools, who highlights the KIPP nonprofit network of college-preparatory, public charter schools, along with their five schools in North Memphis. As a national network, KIPP has a 25-year track record of helping students in educationally underserved communities develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need for success in college and life. KIPP Memphis began with one school in 2002; and today operates five schools – two Elementary, two Middle and one High educating nearly 1,800 students. During the interview, Dr. Burt talks about some of the differentiators for KIPP Memphis Public Schools, their vision for the future, how they are preparing students for life after graduation, their focus on community and family engagement, how the community can support their efforts and students, and more.
